According to AIG, in 2021, 62% of their Critical Illness claims were due to cancer. These claims were from people between ages 22 and 70.

Amount of Payouts

According to Royal London, £632m was paid out across all types of cover in 2021 with 99.5% of claims being successful within the same year.

In 2021, LV had 96% successful claims. Out of these claims, the youngest age to claim on a Life and Critical Illness policy was 19

Main Medical Conditions

According to Legal and General, within 2021, 65.8% of claims made were attributable to Cancer, 13.4% to Heart Attack and 7.7% to Stroke.
